OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy includes the evaluation, treatment and client/caregiver consultation regarding life tasks that are meaningful to the individual. Life tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Activities of Daily Living
  • Home Management
  • Cognitive and Perceptual Retraining
  • Community Reintegration
  • Safety Awareness
  • Functional Transfers
  • Mobility and Positioning

Environmental factors are assessed and modified as needed including adaptation of the home or living environment; training in the use of adaptive equipment; and the fabrication and skilled application of orthotic devices. Diagnoses treated by occupational therapy include, but are not limited to:

  • Arthritis
  • Neurological Diagnoses including:
    • CP
    • Stroke
    • MS
    • Post Polio
    • Head Injury
  • Hand and Upper Extremity Injuries including:
    • Tendon and Nerve
    • Ligament
    • Soft Tissue
    • Lymphedema
    • International Certification in hymphedma management
  • Orthopaedic Injuries
  • Developmental Delays
  • Burns
  • Mental Heath
  • Cardiac Issues
